Des Moines Renaissance Faire

Des Moines Renaissance Faire

The “Des Moines Renaissance Faire” is back after a short hiatus!  It is the original and family-friendly festival, established in 2004, and produced by the people that have been bringing Renaissance Festivals to Des Moines since 1993.  Located near Saylorville, this is a welcome addition to the faire at Sleepy Hollow, giving more opportunities to vendors, entertainment, and patrons!  With 70 acres of land available, the new location will surely grow into a spectular village.

Renaissance Faire at Sleepy Hollow – Weekend 1

The Renaissance Faire at Sleepy Hollow kicked off the first weekend in September, and patrons enjoyed three full days of the themed Viking and Shieldmaidens Weekend. Artisans filled the marketplace to display and sell their handcrafted wares, and patrons interacted with dozens of memorable characters roaming the village streets. Live armored jousting captured everyone’s attention, and there were plenty of family-friendly activities.  Huzzah!
